Welcome again to the CHESS CORNER! We have some news about the subject for this last part of the course.
CHESS TOURNAMENT: FINAL ROUND
During this week we are going to start the last part of this competition where our students are going to play between them with the main target of having a place in the 2nd MDA Chess Tournament.
However, above all our main aim is that they also learn how to respect their opponent during a game and to teach them that the most important thing is not to win but to learn in each game that they have played.

6th graders- PROJECT 2017: HOW TO INVOLVE OUR FAMILIES IN THIS SUBJECT
During the third term our 6th graders are going to start a project in order to make a reminder of everything that they have learnt about chess since they started to play when they were very young. Moreover this project is going to open a door for those families that would like to learn chess in order to play with their kids. We will give more details about this project in a few weeks.

Tournament calendar
The 2014-2015
chess tournament has just started. We will update
the classification every week. We remember to our students the rules
that they will have to follow in order to participate in the tournament:
1. Fair play: Shake your hands
with your opponent before starting, say "good luck" and when you
finish shake your hands again.
2. Only English: talking in
English during a chess game is allowed between the two players (if both of
them agree with it). Those people who talk in Spanish or Catalan will be warned
until two times. (!)
(!)If this last
happens the teacher will not count the points won from this match (e.g if you
have won one match but you have had two warnings, this point won't be counted
in your total).
Have fun!
